A Thousand Years

When I got home out of the October rain, I felt inspired. I turned on a vinyl record, lit some candles, and wrote a poem. It felt good to put ink to paper and write something that lifted off my soul onto the page. It's been a long time since I've written a poem, but I want to try to reconnect with my writer's heart and right now in my life the timing is good to restart that passion for writing. I want to share with you what I wrote and I hope that you enjoy it.

A Thousand Years, Today
a poem by Jenna Nash
A thousand years of feeling something
is still felt today
The electricity of the first thought still echoes
today
And we would wait a thousand years more
to write it down again.
A thousand years of loving someone
is still loved today
The glow of the moon still burns
today
And we would wait a thousand years more
to feel it all again.
A thousand years of existing somewhere
is still existing today
The oxygen of the trees lingers in our lungs
today
And we would wait a thousand years more
to breathe it in again.
