A Songwriter's Heart

People have been writing things down for centuries. Mineral to stone wall, quill to paper, ink to notebook. The need to get emotion out on something lasting drives and inspires us. And when words and music are married it's like a powerful force that almost transcends time. A songwriter has the ability and magic to pass down stories and songs into time. Ever since the first lute and troubadour poured out a story that was too much to be silenced, it seeped into our DNA and we had to sing and we had to write. We have to write our experiences so our future will remember that we were here. A songwriter can slip into the minds of emotions that were felt a thousand years ago, and remind humanity that it's just as important now. Maybe no one will remember us in another thousand years. But maybe the songwriters will and remind whoever has the ears to listen. Or maybe, it will pass into the winds and like sand will blend into the sea. The important thing is that right now we do exist, and that we get our moment to pour our emotions, tell our stories while we can, and have our turn to pass something of our hearts into history.
